On Thursday, March 6, more than 700 guests gathered in downtown Toronto for the 57th annual Ontario Prayer Breakfast. For more than 50 years, Christians have gathered in downtown Toronto to share breakfast, pray for our elected officials and be inspired. Elected representatives read from scripture with guests participating in prayer, enjoying beautiful music and hearing from inspiring speakers. This year’s keynote address was delivered by Shaila Visser, National Director of Alpha Canada. Frank Cardinal Leo offered grace and the Archdiocese of Toronto’s Director of Public Relations & Communications, Neil MacCarthy, served as Chair for the event.

Let us continue to pray for all those who serve through elected office, whether it be at the federal, provincial, municipal or school board level. We also pray for all those in positions of leadership, from faith leaders, business leaders and community leaders. May their decisions reflect a commitment to the common good, ensuring that their work contributes positively to society and honors the dignity of every person.
